The methods of the assessment of faculty member in universities varied. Some of them depend on the assessment of the faculty member on the teaching and research burden. Others assessments focus on how much teaching is provided during the calendar year. There are some ways in which the faculty member’s assessment depends on the qualitative aspect provided by the faculty member. In addition, some of them combine both quantitative and qualitative aspects of the necessities to reach an appropriate evaluation process. This research aimed to consider the student as an essential part in the educational science and it is clear that the role taken by the student is no less important than the other role. This research started, where a questionnaire was prepared which included several paragraphs to measure the extent to which the student can evaluate the professor. The fourth stage students were chosen as the study sample because the students at last stage in the university has a good level of thinking and preparation. That means these students have experience in understanding the level of teaching and the knowledge of teachers. The proposed approach tries to analyze the educational model for evaluation developed in the Computer Science Department of the University of Anbar for learning and teaching of computer science and related scientific disciplines. In general, it is clear that more than 50% of the tested sample are satisfied with the teaching process which indicated good results have been achieved.

Quality teaching and how to assess and award it, continue to be an area of scholarship and debate in higher education. While the literature demonstrates that assessment should be multifaceted, operationalizing this is no easy task. To gain insight into how teaching excellence is defined in Canadian higher education, this empirical study collected and analysed the criteria, evidence, and standards for institutional teaching awards from 89 institutions and 204 award programs across Canada. The majority of awards included criteria such as specific characteristics of teaching performance and student-centredness; while activities that had impact outside an individual’s teaching practice were also prevalent, including campus leadership, scholarship of teaching and learning, and contributions to curriculum. Lists of potential sources of evidence were heavily weighted towards student perceptions and artefacts from instructors’ teaching. Recommendations for individuals and institutions wanting to foster excellence in teaching are offered along with suggestions for future research.

Under the influence of big data, many fields have undergone tremendous changes. In the field of education, the data still contains a wealth of practical value, but the data mining and knowledge discovery is not enough, especially in the application of student evaluations of teaching (SET). In study, the K-means algorithm is used to cluster the data of three main teaching evaluation indexes (TEI) including individual background, course content, teaching method into high satisfaction degree (HSD), middle satisfaction degree (MSD), and low satisfaction degree (LSD). The logistic regression results showed that gender was a significant factor in students' evaluation of teachers and that there were potential connections between teaching evaluation and teachers' gender, age, and teaching content. In addition, the research shows that the effect of satisfaction degree on students' academic achievement is limited. The findings from this empirical study present a better understanding of reform of SET in higher education.
