Evaluation of Degradation of Heat Stressed Pipelines

Abstract: Piping systems of boilers are mainly exposed by high temperatures, pressures and corrosive loads. This corresponds to the choice of materials boiler pipeline. These materials are in most cases special stainless steel for energetic equipment. Article deals with the evaluation of the resulting degradation of thermally stressed pipe boiler, which occurred after the increase boiler capacity. Degradation showed an increased amount of corrosion products on the inner surface of the pipeline, which resulted in cloggin… Show more

“…Every graduate of engineering disciplines in the technical practice meets with manifestations of limit states and degradation of technical objects [1][2][3]. The consequences of these processes must be solved in such a way as to ensure the required quality and safety, while ensuring the economic carrying capacity of the manufactured technical object.…”

“…Pipes of such large dimensions must be securely fastened to the structure. We deal with design, optimization and structural [1] and temperature [2], [3], [4], [10] numerical simulations of piping systems and supports. The design takes into account the resulting functionality and efficiency, manufacturability, assembly and safety during production and operation.…”

“…their highly-alloying, complex shape or abnormal dimensions of casted parts. [1,2] Some of these defects (the visual ones) are repaired directly in the foundries with subsequent specified heat treatment of the whole part in furnace (for martensitic steels tempering at temperatures 710 up to 740°C). Moreover, ultrasonic and eddy current NDT is used during visual inspection of every part.…”
