“…Misconception regarding extraction of the upper jaw tooth is not only common in our locality, but has also been reported in literatures form other part of the world with prevalence of 30%-60%. [3,9,17] Unlike the myth in our locality, in these studies it was believed that vision is affected if an upper jaw tooth is extracted. One possible reason for the development of this myth is that when an infection starts from posterior maxillary teeth it tends to spread to the temporal spaces easily thus appearance of head swelling.…”
