Evaluation of elastoplastic properties of brittle sandstone at microscale using micro‐indentation test and simulation

Abstract

Sandstone is one of the most important types of sedimentary rock, mainly composed of quartz or feldspar. It is widely applied in geotechnical engineering, such as the underground construction, dam base rock, and tunneling. Thus, numerous scientific efforts have been devoted to studying the time-dependent deformation, failure characteristics, and strength
