Abstract: An assessment of the free radical scavenging potential of 4-amino-5-phenyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol (AT) and 4-amino-5-(4-pyridyl)-4H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol (AP) involved a combination of experimental methodologies and theoretical calculations. In the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH•) assay, AT exhibited an heightened efficacy in scavenging DPPH• radicals compared to AP.
