Evaluation of greenness of green buildings based on carbon emissions

Abstract: PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to evaluate green buildings from the angle of greenness and improve the evaluation system. And the matter-element extension method is used to evaluate the greenness of green buildings, in order to provide useful references for the evaluation system of green buildings.Design/methodology/approachFirst, this paper studies the aspects of safety and durability, health and comfort, living convenience, resource-saving, environmental liability and ecological quality, etc. For the fi… Show more

“…Thirdly, our suggested mitigation strategies cover delivery vehicles and traffic road efficiency, but minimizing and reducing unnecessary delivery of orders may still require future study. Carbon emissions could be reduced through developing appropriate household social responsibility (HSR) initiatives 21 , such as limiting household takeaway consumption or sharing one delivery for multiple households. Lastly, the environmental impacts of a company might be closely linked to firm-level corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts 22,23 .…”

“…However, at present, the evaluation of green building technology and economic evaluation is more focemployed on the overall level. Although this concept can to some extent meet the current needs for promoting green buildings and facilitate owners to identify the advantages of green buildings, from a specific work perspective, this approach is relatively one-sided and easy to create a certain illusion for people [62,63]. At the same time, it also allows for the creation of conditions for different violations, which is unfavorable for promoting the development of the entire industry.…”

“…In recent years, domestic and foreign scholars have conducted more research on the design stage of green buildings. Cai et al [11] proposed a fuzzy multi-level gray method by combining the fuzzy Delphi analytic hierarchy process and gray theory; Yu et al [12] proposed a chain risk management framework for green building projects under the EPC model from the perspective of a general contractor; Zhang et al [13] included carbon emissions into the evaluation system for the first time, used the Delphi method to determine 18 key evaluation indexes, and established a green building evaluation index system; Eti et al [14] designed a DEMATEL decision-making model based on TOPSIS, which determined the priority of each factor during green building renovation and used it for the weight of the green building evaluation system; and Jamaludin et al [15] used gray relational analysis-analytic hierarchy process to sort and evaluate projects and studied the low-carbon evaluation of green buildings based on the full life cycle theory. In order to reduce the human error of subjective weighting methods such as the AHP, while reducing the experimental workload and improving efficiency, an orthogonal experiment-EWM-TOPSIS model was proposed.…”
