“…Although the authors have found good cytotoxic activity, the IC 50 value of the complex was higher than cisplatin. In another study (Vrzal et al 2010), Pd oxalate complexes were reported to have IC 50 values of around 5.4-8.2 M. However, in our study, we found that the IC 50 values (1.8-2.1 M) of the complex 3 was lower than that of cisplatin (3.2-23.1 M) in cancer cell lines used. Taken together, our Pd complex 3 may therefore be regarded as a more potent agent at lower concentrations than cisplatin, which is a clinically established anticancer drug with broad spectrum of activity.…”

“…The cancer cell lines were treated with the tested compounds for 24 h, using multi-well culture plates of 96 wells [37]. The selected compounds -cisplatin 1-6, Hqui and Cu(BF 4 )·H 2 O were applied to the cells up to the concentration of 50 μM.…”

“…The concentration of colony forming units (CFU/ml) was calculated the next day, depending on the number of colonies. The IC 50 was calculated by graphing CFU/ml vs. the logarithm of concentration of compounds (Vrzal et al, 2010).…”
