Abstract:We have established a model of reversible bronchial FB obstruction in pigs that is both feasible and appropriate for evaluating the long-term process of pulmonary reexpansion after removal of FB. Bronchial metal FB retention for a period of 2 weeks could form atelectasis, and a natural pulmonary recovery process related to atelectasis takes approximately 4 weeks after removal of metal FB.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
