Evaluation of Seahorse XF Cell Mito Stress Test for Detection of Mitochondrial Dysfunction Using Prototypical Mitochondrial Toxicants in the PC‐3 Cell Line
Abstract:Mitochondrial dysfunction has been frequently implicated in some drug‐induced toxicities. Various methods for the detection of mitochondrial toxicity are available such as an oxygen consumption assay to measure mitochondrial basal respiration, assays to measure direct effects of drugs on the five complexes in the mitochondrial electron transport chain (ETC), and assays to detect changes in mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) copy number or changes in mitochondrial membrane potential. The Seahorse technology platform has… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
