Evaluation of Student-Perceived Service Quality in Higher Education for Sustainable Development: A Fuzzy TODIM-ERA Method

Abstract: Evaluating and prioritizing the service quality of higher education is an essential issue for the successful implementation of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). This study investigates an evaluation framework to assess the performances of higher education institutes (HEIs) within the context of ESD based on student-perceived service quality. First, a conceptual model of the evaluation indicator system is explored by embedding sustainability-related indicators into the fuzzy SERVQUAL scale. Then, the… Show more

“…The authors of the study (Liu, 2022) argue that assessing and prioritizing the quality of higher education services is an important issue for the successful implementation of education for sustainable development. To demonstrate the effectiveness and reliability of the proposed measures, the researchers used the example of five Chinese higher education institutions in the field of maritime transport.…”

“…The balanced development of compulsory education has become a hot issue of common concern to the government, experts, scholars and all walks of life, and this is also true for regional education [4]. This year, although the regional investment in compulsory education has shown a year-on-year growth trend, and teachers and school conditions have been greatly improved, there are still some economically underdeveloped regions, and the development of education is relatively backward, and at the same time, due to the urban-rural dichotomous economic structure of the region, the regional urban and rural compulsory education appears to be unbalanced situation [5][6][7]. But what exactly is the education balance, and what is the current situation of the national compulsory education balance.…”

“…To address this limitation, Gomes and Lima [33] devised a TODIM method that could take into account the constrained rationality on the basis of prospect theory. Liu [34] conducted a hybrid fuzzy TODIM-ERA method under intuitionistic fuzzy sets. Liu [35] combined Analytic Network Process with TODIM method under the Z-information environment.…”
