Evaluation of the AIX1000 Automated Rapid Plasma Reagin Assay in a High-Prevalence Setting

Abstract

A study performed in a large sexually transmitted infection clinic in Antwerp, Belgium, demonstrated that automated rapid plasma reagin testing on the AIX1000 system shows a similar performance to the manually performed Macro-Vue RPR Card Test, except for a negative deviation for high-titer samples.
