Abstract:In this paper, we focus our attention on analyzing the cross-polarization modulation (XPolM) phenomena in the semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA). Based on numerical simulation consisting in gain and stokes parameters measurement, the impact of XPolM on the SOA structure behavior is reported and detailed. Therefore, the exploitation of the nonlinear polarization rotation effect to perform applications in high bit rate optical networks and functionalities in all-optical signal processing is investigated.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
