Abstract:Mycotoxin known as ochratoxin A (OTA) is generated by a number of fungi, including Aspergillus ochraceus, Aspergillus carbonarius, Aspergillus niger, and Penicillium verrucosum. OTA causes kidney tumors and nephrotoxicity in humans and a number of other animal species.
