Evaluation of the reliability of optimized reinforced concrete beams

Abstract: In the present research, the reliability of optimized reinforced concrete beams was evaluated in different design situations. Simply supported beams were optimized to find the dimensions and reinforcements of the cross-section that minimize costs, meeting the criteria of technical codes, through genetic algorithms.
