Abstract:Cystic echinococcosis (CE) is a widespread zoonotic parasitic disease caused by the hydatid cyst of Echinococcus granulosus. The World Health Organization classifies it as a neglected tropical disease, particularly affecting areas with free-roaming dogs scavenging on animal carcasses.
