Evaluation of Thermophysical Properties and Thermal Performance of Amine-Functionalized Graphene Oxide/Deep Eutectic Solvent Nanofluids as Heat-Transfer Media for Desalination Systems

Abstract: The study mainly focuses on the synthesis and characterization of amine-functionalized graphene oxide (GO-NH 2 ) nanoparticles. It also reports the thermal properties and stability analysis of deep eutectic solvent (DES)-and GO-NH 2 -based nanofluids. DES is composed of diphenyl ether as the hydrogen bond acceptor and DL-menthol as the hydrogen bond donor in the molar ratio 1:1. The nanofluid was prepared by a two-step method where two different concentrations of functionalized graphene nanofluids, namely, 0.0… Show more

“…Notably, each sample exhibited a significant mass loss, as shown in Figure c,d. This weight reduction can be attributed to the removal of physically adsorbed wetting substances and solvent molecules . Moreover, the evaporation of water molecules led to the elimination of hydroxyl groups, resulting in the formation of pores.…”

“…The type and strength of interactions between different molecular segments can be visually analyzed through quantum chemical calculation. In this work, electrostatic potential (ESP) and independent gradient model (IGM) methods were used to get insight into capturing low-carbon alcohols by [HEMIM][PF 6 ] at the molecular level.…”

“…The products or composites possessed excellent properties. These compounds might include 1-aminopropyl-3methylimidazolium chloride, 7 1,4-phenylenediamine or 2,3,5,6-tetramethyl-1,4-phenylenediamine, 8,9 amino-modied MXene (3-trimethoxysilylpropan-1-amine modied MXene), 10 ethylenediamine, [11][12][13] 4,4 ′ -diaminodiphenylmethane, 14 and amino acids (e.g., alanine, tyrosine, and cysteine). 15 The epoxide of GO can also react with an amino group that is also attached directly or indirectly to the graphene sheet.…”
