Evaluation of Two Different Resonance Frequency Devices to Detect Implant Stability: A Clinical Trial

Abstract: This study demonstrates that changes in implant stability measured with the newer magnetic device correlate well with those found with the electronic device. Both devices confirmed the initial decreases in implant stability that occur following placement and identified an increase in stability during the first 6 weeks of functional loading.

“…Several clinical studies have used this method for determining when to start loading on the implant, [9][10][11][12][13] and the value of ISQ 70 is considered the threshold for inserting the dental prosthesis and for immediate loading. 14 In clinical practice many professionals consider an IT of 45 Ncm for immediate loading, so that this is the value most commonly used and considered the safest and most therapeutic.…”

Teknik, implant ve çevre kemik arasındaki ara yüzey bağlantısını bozmak için gerekli en yüksek torku ölçmeyi amaçlar.…”

“…Normally, when dental implants are placed in healthy human jaws, they will form and establish strong stable bond with the surrounding bone tissues after a period of several months and this phenomenon is known as Osseointegration (Albrektsson et al 1986). It has been suggested in several studies that the stiffness of the bone-implant interface can be assessed by RFA (Valderrama et al 2007;Sakoh J et al 2006;Alsaadi G et al 2007). Therefore, clinicians have been advised to utilize RFA to determine the strength and adequacy of the established bond (Osseointegration) before they restore implants with dental prostheses.…”
