“…Increased QTdisp 20 and a positive correlation of QTdisp with C-reactive protein (CRP) has also been described in Turkish FMF patients 21. Increased QTdisp is is reported to directly correlate with susceptibility to complex ventricular rhythm disorders and sudden cardiac death 22-24.…”

“…Fidanci et al 27 demonstrated that one of the time-domain parameters of HRV calculated and analysed by 24-hour ambulatory electrocardiographic monitoring software was significantly decreased in patients with FMF compared to controls. Similarly, Canpolat et al 28 showed abnormal HRV and HRT values in FMF patients. In light of these studies, we hypothesised that impaired endothelial function reduced coronary flow reserve and caused microvascular ischaemia and inflammation-related fibrosis, which, by affecting ventricular repolarisation, may lead to arrhythmias in FMF patients.…”

“…Various autonomic system disturbances have been noted in patients with other autoimmune rheumatic disorders, including ankylosing spondylitis, fibromyalgia and systemic sclerosis (Stojanovic 2009). Canpolat et al (2011) have also shown disturbed HRV parameters in familial Mediterranean fever, another autoinflammatory disorder. Although altered cardiac autonomic balance has been shown in the hypothyroid and subclinically hypothyroid patients with Hashimoto thyroiditis, there is not any study on the evaluation of cardiac autonomic functions in euthyroid children with Hashimoto thyroiditis (Galetta et al 2008).…”
