Abstract. Warehouse management system can take full advantage of the resources and provide efficient warehousing services. The paper aims to show advantages and disadvantages of the warehouse management system in a chosen enterprise, which is focused on logistics services and transportation. The paper can bring new innovative approach for warehousing and presents how logistics enterprise can reduce logistics costs. This approach includes cost reduction of the establishment, operation and savings in the overall assessment of the implementation of the warehouse management system. The innovative warehouse management system will be demonstrated as the case study, which is classified as a qualitative scientific method, in the chosen logistics enterprise. The paper is based on the research of the world literature, analyses of the internal logistics processes, data and finally enterprise documents. The paper discovers costs related to personnel costs, handling equipment costs and costs for material identification. Implementation of the warehouse management system will reduce overall logistics costs of warehousing and extend the warehouse management system to other parts of the logistics chain.

ÖZGünümüzün dinamik rekabet koşullarında işletmeler için maliyetlerin azaltılması ve üretim süreçlerinde verimliliğin arttırılması bir zorunluluk haline gelmiştir. Bu bağlamda üretim sürelerinin önceden belirlenmesi ve mümkünse iyileştirilmesi büyük önem taşımaktadır. Üretim sürelerinin belirlenmesi için kullanılan yöntemlerden birisi de Metot Zaman Ölçümü (MZÖ) yöntemidir. MZÖ, el ile yapılan bir işi bu işi yapmak için gereken temel vücut hareketleri türünden inceleyerek, hareketler için önceden bir standart süre ortaya koyan iş ölçüm yöntemidir. Bu çalışmada, MZÖ yöntemi ile beyaz eşya yan sanayisinde faaliyet gösteren bir işletme için üretim sürelerinin iyileştirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bu yöntem yardımıyla en küçük hareketler bile hassas bir şekilde incelendiğinden küçük iyileştirme fırsatları yakalanarak daha verimli çalışan bir üretim hattı elde edilmesi hedeflenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda ele alınan ürün için iyileştirme öncesindeki üretim süresi ile iyileştirmeden sonraki üretim süresi karşılaştırılarak günlük üretim miktarında meydana gelen artış ortaya konulmuştur.Anahtar Kelimeler: iş ölçümü, metot zaman ölçümü (MZÖ), önceden belirlenmiş hareket-zaman sistemleri Improvement of production time with Method Time Measurement (MTM) method: a case study at white goods sub-ındustry ABSTRACT It has become a necessity to reduce costs and improve efficiency in the production process for enterprises in today's dynamic competitive environment. In this context, pre-determining and improving the production time has great importance. Method Time Measurement (MTM) is a measurement method, which examines a manual work in the context of basic body motions and determines a standard time for these motions. In this study, it is aimed to improve production times for a company which operates in white goods sub-industry with MTM method. Besides, it is aimed to obtain a more efficient production line by handing little improvement oppurtinities via this method as a result of examining the smallest motions sensitively. At the end of study, the production times which are obtained before improvement and after improvement are compared and the increase in daily production amount is revealed.
