Everyday peripheral tasks vs. digital peripheral tasks

Abstract: Peripheral interaction is very common in everyday interaction with the physical world. We seemingly effortlessly tie our shoe laces while being fully engaged in a conversation or stir the soup on the stove while reading the recipe.
