“…Hauber et al (2003) reported that eosinophilic inflammation in the peripheral airway was suppressed by HFA-flunisolide in asthmatics. Bergeron et al (2005) showed reduction of smooth muscle area and improvement of peripheral airflow limitation with HFA-flunisolide in the patients with mild to moderate asthma, suggesting that treatment with inhaled corticosteroid which has smaller particle size is effective to treat airway inflammation and remodeling in the peripheral airway.
