Abstract: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a progressive and irreversible neurodegenerative disorder. Familial AD (FAD) mutations in presenilins have been linked to Ca 2þ signaling abnormalities. Presenilins (PS) are 50 kDa proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane.
