Evolução paleoambiental holocênica da porção nordeste do Estado de São Paulo, Brasil

Abstract: PALEOENVIRONMENTAL EVOLUTION DURING THE HOLOCENE IN THE NORTHEAST OF SÃO PAULO STATE, BRAZIL. Palynological analysis, isotopic and charcoal fragments provided information about the climate change of the last 10.250 years BP in the northeastern portion of the State of São Paulo. The samples were taken from the base of the studied trench with ages between 10.000 and 6.986 years BP. They present C 4 vegetation with values δ 13 C around -14.3 ‰, little presence of palynomorphs, and fragments of charcoal. The inter… Show more

“…The episode likely happens due to the expansion of Riparian Forest, under warmer and moister climatic conditions. It is in agreement with other pollen records of São Paulo State, in which an increase in moisture rates was observed at 2,189 yr BP for JEE (Souza et al 2013), and at 3,500-1,950 yr BP for Paraíba do Sul River Valley (Garcia et al 2004).…”

“…The hiatus (Figs. 2 and 5) at 13 and 4 kyr BP found at Santa Elisa was also observed in the Northwest of São Paulo State at JEE, on a river terrace of Mogi Guaçu River (Souza et al 2013). For the JEE record, the gap ranges from 10,192 to 2,183 14 C yr BP, and it is interpreted as an absence of sedimentation or removal of sediments previously deposited by erosion.…”

“…Há poucos estudos relacionados ao desenvolvimento desse bioma durante o Cenozóico para o estado de São Paulo (Gouveia et al, 1999;Souza et al, 2013), a maioria dos trabalhos são desenvolvidos na Região do Brasil (Ribeiro and Walter, 2008;Salgado-Labouriau, 1997;Barberi et al, 2000;Ledru et al, 2001).…”
