Abstract:This paper aims to further the understanding of the mixing process of in-line twin synthetic jets (SJs) and their impact in the near-wall region in a flat-plate laminar boundary layer. A numerical study has been carried out, in which colored fluid particles and the Q criterion are used to track the SJ-induced vortex structures at the early stage of the evolution. Interacting vortex structures at four selected phase differences are presented and analyzed. It is found that the fluid injected at the early stage o… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
