Abstract:Ex-votos, devotional offerings given in fulfillment of a vow, have been an integral part of many cultures throughout history. The word ex-voto is derived from the Latin ex voto suscepto ("in pursuance of a vow") and refers to a cross-cultural votive offering to a deity or a saint.
