“…We designed a series of experiments to address the research questions and examine the hypotheses accurately. The present research contains both laboratory (Study 1a, Study 2, and Study 3) and field (Study 1b) experiments to examine whether ambient scent temperature significantly affects participants' food selection in an Asian context, given that previous studies are conducted in Western culture and consumers' self-construal does exist at a certain level of cultural difference (Konakawa et al, 2023). Hence, conducting pertinent research in the Asian context will colour up the spectrum of the effects of ambient scent temperature on consumers' food selection and construal level theory.…”

Conversely, interdependent self-constructors tend to be othercentered, emphasize collective thinking, focus on maintaining community interpersonal relations and strive to adapt to the collective environment.…”

“…Social systems differ among different cultures and societies. At a more intangible level, culturally valued selfconstruals and social relationships differ in the context of daily life (Markus & Kitayama, 1991), and are also reflected in clinical psychological contexts (Konakawa, 2020;Roesler et al, 2021; see also Konakawa et al, 2023). Images of text-based online counseling are likely to differ in different cultures because they reflect these general cultural differences.…”
