Examining the computation of the underlying components of DALYs

Abstract: Disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) capture the mortality and morbidity arising from a disease: they incorporate the years of life lost (YLL) and the years of life lived with disability (YLD) due to a disease. The relative importance of YLLs and YLDs differs across diseases.
