Abstract:The method of extended crossing beam with recording of optical signal from the intersection area between the electron and atom beams was used to study excitation of singly-charged zinc ion from the ground state of the zinc atom. Fiftyfive ZnII excitation cross sections have been measured at incident electron energy of 30 eV. Seven optical excitation functions (OEFs) have been recorded in the electron energy range E = 0-200 eV. The results obtained have been compared with findings from past experiments.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
