Excitation Functions of natNe(3He,x)22,24Na and natNe(α,x)22,24Na Processes: Investigation of Production of ^^Na and ^Na at a Medium-Sized Cyclotron

Abstract: Excitation functions were measured for 'He-and a-particle induced nuclear reactions on natural neon leading to the formation of ^^Na and "Na from their respective thresholds up to 36 MeV in the case of 'He-particles and up to 27 MeV for a-particles. Use was made of the stacked-gas cell technique. A comparison of production yields of ^^Na and "Na via various low energy (Eprojeciiie -40 MeV) routes is given. ^^Na can be produced at a low energy multiparticle accelerator using proton, 'He-or oparticle induced rea… Show more

“…Furthermore, excitation functions of -particle induced reactions on a large number of target elements have been measured in recent years in several laboratories (cf. [226][227][228][229][230][231][232][233][234][235][236] ral isotopic composition may be potentially useful for developing production routes of a few radionuclides. However, further studies related to practical production using highly-enriched targets are needed.…”
