For instance, many psychiatric disorders that involve failures in emotional control, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (Groves et al, 2021;Jarrett, 2016), depression (Chechko et al, 2015;Clawson et al, 2013;Etkin & Schatzberg, 2011;Joormann & Tanovic, 2015), obsessive compulsive disorder (Bannon et al, 2002) and bipolar disorder (Houshmand et al, 2010;Rey et al, 2014), are also accompanied by a deficit in cognitive control.
