“…We did not ask for income or educational level of the parents, although they enter the concept of SES, because they are rarely accurately known by the adolescents. They are very strongly linked to occupational category in France (Chauvel, 1999;Derosières & Thévenot, 2002), and typologies based on the parents' occupations reported by the adolescents have been validated and judged reliable (Lien, Friestad, & Klepp, 2001). Although mother's and father's occupations could have different influences, we considered only the highest one in order to provide a simple indicator.…”
