Abstract: Due to the ever-growing concerns on the air pollution and energy security, many cities have started to update their taxi fleets with electric ones. Although environmentally friendly, the rapid promotion of electric taxis raises problems to both taxi drivers and governments, e.g., prolonged waiting/charging time, unbalanced utilization of charging infrastructures and reduced taxi supply due to the long charging time. In this paper, we make the first effort to understand the long-term evolving patterns through a… Show more

“…This data format is typical trajectory data, and the data source is Shenzhen, China, which is one of the first cities in China to popularize ETs and is representative and typical in this regard. Moreover, from the findings of previous research such as Wang et al, 54 the hourly proportional trend of charging events closely resembles the trends described in this study. The relatively stable trend of four charging peaks per day between 2013 and 2017 indicates that the hourly trend of charging incidents in a city can remain stable for a considerable period.…”

“…The ETTD dataset [28] contains trajectories of 377 electric taxis with 1,155,654 GPS records and speed profiles collected on Oct 22, 2014. The driving conditions range from approximately all scenarios city-wide.…”

“…As shown in Fig. 5, we use four trajectory collections sampled from the dataset in [45] to demonstrate the effectiveness of movement prediction of AVs based on the current location and historical routes. We select the LSTM model as the movement prediction model.…”
