Aim: The purpose of the study is to introduce GIS technologies and create digital maps of irrigated soils, databases for soil surveys and agrochemical properties of lands of protected zones of linear objects of the Fergana region, as well as to determine the influence of power lines on wheat yield. Methods: The article uses methods of spatial and system-structural analysis, cartographic, comparative-geographical, statistical, typological and natural-economic zoning. They are based on GIS technologies using modern technological software, such as ArcGIS 10.3(2), and SAS Planet 1.3. Mathematical statistical processing of research results was carried out based on the IRRISTAT program. Results: based on the new modernized method, irrigated soils of farms under power lines were evaluated, and digital attribute bonus maps were compiled. Scientifically-based recommendations aimed at improving soil properties and efficient use of land resources have been developed. Conclusion: Based on the results of research conducted based on GIS technologies, ArcGIS applications and the rules of direct genetic soil science, the influence of high-voltage electrical networks on the properties of the soil of electromagnetic fields and protection limits were determined. The definition of areas in the study area, the establishment of boundaries, the definition of zones of impact and protection of high-voltage electrical networks, the analysis of agrophysical, agrochemical and other soil properties, the ways of using attribute data from individual modern GIS technologists and ArcGIS applications have been improved and appropriate maps have been compiled.

After the demise of the Soviet Union, many drained reclaimed lands were abandoned, which resulted a new postreclamation type of landscapes. Identification of new trends in their dynamics and evolution makes it possible to create a database for assessing the loss of socioeconomic functions earlier fulfilled by these landscapes. A landscape in Central Meshchera drained in 1966 was used as a model area. The dynamics and functioning of the landscape in the zone affected by the reclamation system and outside it have been monitored at experimental stations since 1977. Changes in landscape functions as a result of intensive use of drainage systems from 1966 to 1991 and its abandonment in 1993-2015 have been qualitatively assessed on the basis of 18 ecological and socioeconomic indicators. A relative scaling method is substantiated and used to analyze four landscape functions: biological production, regulation of surface water quality, soil fertility, and cultural (aesthetic) function. Etalons of regional level have been chosen for the assessment of landscape functions from the point of view of local society. The use of weighted coefficients for the given functions permit to conclude that at the present time, this area is of the greatest value for agricultural activity and is useless for the solution of nature protection problems, though the differences in the integral value are small.

A new method of digital mapping of the soil cover pattern with calculation of the share of soils of different taxa and degree classes for soil erosion in the soil associations is proposed. A comparative analysis of soil maps obtained using different methods of construction (visual expert and digital) and with their different contents (displaying the dominant soil or soil associations) has been performed. In the case of mapping by the visual expert method (with the display of the dominant soil), a significant underestimation of the total area of moderately and strongly eroded soils in comparison with the digital mapping is noted. These differences are due to the underestimation of the area of small polygons with moderately and strongly eroded soils in the composition of soil associations on slopes of low steepness and in shallow hollows in the visual expert method of mapping. When the content of digital maps is generalized from soil associations to dominant soil categories, a significant change in information on the degree of soil degradation by erosion is also noted. Comparison of visual expert and digital methods for mapping soils of different taxa indicates a high degree of compliance between the spatial location and area of soil delineations with similar component content in both cases. The greatest differences between the soil maps created by these methods are noted for the soils with periodic overmoistening, namely, meadow-chernozemic (Luvic Chernic Phaeozem (Oxyaquic)) and chernozemic-meadow (Luvic Stagnic Chernic Phaeozem) soils because of the poor consideration for microtopography in traditional mapping. In general, it can be concluded that the creation of a digital map is more difficult in terms of the need to use specialized computer programs and mathematical models. However, the resulting digital databases contain information of a higher level of detail than traditional soil maps.
