This was largely experienced as balancing familial expectations while studying in academic environments normed on largely White, heterosexual expectations (Caldera et al, 2003; Fisher et al, 2011; Lopez & Ann-Yi, 2006; Rivera et al, 2007; Stebleton et al, 2020).
