The Support and Aid to Families Electronically (SAFE) pilot program was developed through a community–university partnership to support parents of elementary students in Ontario, while providing stable practicums for social work students in the midst of COVID-19 restrictions. Purpose: The aim of the current study was to examine the feasibility of the SAFE pilot program as a mental health support to families by examining three feasibility objectives: demand, acceptably, and implementation. Method: Qualitative data from interviews, focus groups, and qualitative surveys involving service users, social work students, referring school board and university professionals ( n = 37) were examined. Results: Demand for SAFE extended beyond the pandemic. A high-level of acceptance of SAFE was identified. Areas of success and considerations for implementation are outlined. Discussion: This study provides practice guidance on implementing this unique program, with potential to address gaps in service provision and the ongoing crisis in field education.

This article focused on a participatory action research that aimed to develop leadership characteristics among middle-ranged members of the Muhammadiyah organization in Kota Langsa. The study utilized the heutagogy paradigm, which emphasized self-determined learning and a holistic framework for nurturing leadership attitudes, engagement, and power. This approach was rooted in humanistic and constructivist principles that sought to cultivate the potential traits of the members. Throughout the research treatment, the members’ mindsets and lives were influenced, aligning them with the challenges confronted by the community and education in the 21st century. The study employed a design based on community-based participatory research (CBPR) of the participatory action research (PAR) design to engage the members in interactive processes and enhance their leadership capabilities. The findings underscored the significance of CBPR and the paradigmatic approach in validating members’ experiences in leading, managing, and organizing, thereby benefiting themselves, their families, and the community as a whole.

This paper explores social work students' perspectives of online fieldwork practice that emerged due to sudden disruption in field placement as a result of the outbreak of COVID‐19 in India. We have recruited and interviewed 32 Master's students from five north‐Indian universities to participate in the research. The study's findings highlight ill‐equipped agencies lacking social work components in online/virtual field placement. Also, ethical dilemmas in working virtually, disconnectedness from the field, and superficial supervision were experienced by the students. The study result implies the urgent need to develop and innovate a pedagogical approach to deal with uncertainties and crises like the COVID‐19.
