Abstract: Background: Vancomycin has been considered the treatment of choice especially for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections; but its poor tissue penetration, renal toxicity, and requiring of dosages monitoring, raises the need for new treatment alternatives such as daptomycin.
