Abstract: Wind turbine (WT) drivetrain failures can lead to expensive repairs and downtime, significantly impacting the Levelized Costs of Electricity (LCOE). Gearbox failures are a major contributor to maintenance costs, with High-Speed-Shaft (HSS) bearings having the highest failure rate.
