Abstract: Increasingly stringent limits to pollutants released by Internal Combustion Engines pushed the automotive research to develop technologies to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. Higher injection pressures are beneficial to accelerate the atomization phase, reducing the particulate matter and unburned hydrocarbon emissions.
