We found out a problem that the non-diffraction wave was not completely removed in parallel phase-shifting digital holography (PPSDH) system using a polarization imaging camera. To solve this problem, we introduce an algorithm for compensating the reconstructed image, which can remove the residual non-diffraction wave. In the algorithm, the phase-shifted holograms generated by image reconstruction algorithm of PPSDH and the intensity distribution of the reference wave are divided into multiple segments. Then, each segment is multiplied by each proper correction constant to make the intensity of the non-diffraction wave equal. After employing the algorithm, the non-diffraction wave can be removed by applying the calculation of phase-shifting interferometry. To confirm the effectiveness of the compensation method, we conducted an experiment. The residual non-diffraction wave of the reconstructed image was successfully removed by the algorithm in the experiment.
