Experimental determination of the energy loss of protons channeled along the 〈111〉 axis through a silicon single crystal

Abstract: An interpretation of the spectra obtained by proton bombardment of Si monocrystal in random and aligned 〈111〉 directions is presented. By fitting technique, applied in the region of resonant backscattering cross section, the ratio of channeled to random stopping power is determined to be β0 = 0.46 −0.03+0.02.
