“…Moreover, among the most familiar WMN routing protocols, BATMAN-advanced [28] is selected as the utilized routing scheme in this work to construct a multi-radio multichannel topology. There are several publications about the high efficiency and performance of this protocol in various testbed experiments that can be considered as a good reason for choosing this protocol [6,26,27,32,35,41]. Although in the arranged topology it was possible to use the static routes instead of using any routing protocol, presented features by BATMAN-advanced facilitates the construction of offered system for applying new rate control policies and alleviation of fairness issues.…”

“…The results show that batman-adv is more stable than 802.11s, but in contrast, the recovery time of 802.11s is faster. On the other hand, Wang et al [4] compared the routing protocol of 802.11s (HWMP Hybrid Wireless Mesh Protocol) against two well known ad hoc routing protocols (OLSR and B.A.T.M.A.N.). Their study determined the maximum average bandwidth and evaluated the protocol's efficiency.…”

“…In addition to the default routing protocol HWMP in the 802.11s, mesh network may support other protocols like Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR), BATMAN, Wireless Distribution System (WDS), Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) and BABEL. BATMAN proved better performances than HWMP and OLSR [21], thus, we decided to make experimentations by using BATMAN.…”
