Abstract:Natural Circulation Boiling Water Reactors (NCBWRs) are prone to flow instabilities. Due to instabilities, heat transfer deteriorates. However, the extent to which the heat transfer coefficient (HTC) deteriorates is not well established. In the present work, experiments are conducted under controlled flow oscillations to evaluate the impact of the time period, mean mass flux, and amplitude ratio on HTC. Existing correlations for HTC are compared with experimental results and are found to be not satisfactory. T… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
