Abstract:In this paper the electrical design for medical centres is discussed. I designed and made all programs that required calculating and making distribution for the Lighting, Ac System, Sockets, the main Transformer with the Power Factor Correction for the system and Emergency System used in the project. We made a MATLAB program by using Graphical User Interface (GUI) to get the exact value, and the AutoCAD program to distribute the lamps and the socket on each floor. Moreover, I designed the system in emergency case, which is called Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) that all system required in any cases to make the system keep working for specific time.

This paper presents some experimental results of refrigerant two-phase flow through a capillary tube. The data was obtained for fluorinert refrigerant R218, which is used in some special vapor cooling circuits, e.g. in various particle detectors at the CERN international research centre. An analytical correlation for mass flow rate of R218 was prepared on the bases of dimensionless parameters derived from the Buckingham π-theorem. Two approaches were compared: (a) the conventional power law function and (b) correlation determined with the use of an artificial neural network. Measured data were also correlated with other mass flow rate correlations presented in literature.

The effects of recirculation and ventilating airs cannot be over emphasized in air-conditioning(AC) systems. These two important factors in AC systems affect COP, required air change and power required to run the system. Most of the available works are based mostly on the identified space and not the actual effects of these two factors. This work considered the effects of these two factors on the performance of a single duct variable volume (SDVV) air-conditioning system. During the experimentation both ventilating and recirculation airs were varied between 0 kg to 1.25 kg. Also the duties of both cooler and heater coils were adjusted to meet the room supply condition while keeping the room ratio line constant at 0.85 gradient. It was discovered that for minimum running cost and the air change required for human comfort to be maintained both ventilating and recirculation airs should be kept at 50% each.
