Experimental investigation of thermal conductivity of medical nanofluids based on functionalised single‐wall carbon nanotube and conjugated cisplatin

Abstract: Thermal engineering parameters such as thermal conductivity (TC) can play an important role in developing medical nanofluids with improved stability and better drug release. In this reported work, an engineering perspective is strategised for the development of medical nanofluids containing functionalised single-wall carbon nanotubes and conjugated cisplatin. These nanofluids were developed by two biocompatible phospholipids. For the first time, the change in TC values of this medical nanofluid was investigate… Show more

“…The experimental 15 N shis are referenced to 1.5 mol dm À3 NH 4 Cl in 1 mol dm À3 HCl and equal to À68.7 ppm. 66 In this work, PBEPBE/NMR-DKH/IEF-PCM(UFF) 15 N NMR spectra for free cDDP (Table 2) is À63.3 ppm. Our interest is to observe the Dd 15 N of cDDP molecule into carbon nanostructures which is much larger than the deviation ($7%) between theoretical and experimental values for free cDDP.…”

“…6 Thus, alternative formulations of platinum compounds have been studied, in particular, drug delivery systems (DDSs) formed by organic macromolecules, [7][8][9] liposomes, 10,11 nanoparticles 12,13 and oxidized carbon nanocomposites. [14][15][16][17][18][19][20] Once in the bloodstream, it is expected that these systems are able to protect the drug against undesirable side reactions as well as provide efficient release in a controlled biological target. Therefore, the understanding of how these systems are provided as inclusion compounds can contribute to design improved complexes with desirable properties.…”

“…Thermal property of CNT can use as an effective parameter for thermal ablation of tumors (Chakravarty et al, 2008;Hashida et al, 2014;Kazemi-Beydokhti et al, 2015). The large number of drug delivery systems based on CNTs were recently synthesized to apply these properties and overcome the side effects of anticancer drugs.…”

“…On the other hand, it is so important that the complex can release the most of drug concentration after delivery to the tumor. The one of the optimum condition was investigated in previous research using two types of phospholipids and covalent binding of cisplatin on the SWCNTs(Kazemi-Beydokhti et al, 2015;Kazemi-Beydokhti et al, 2014).…”
