Abstract:Fast and energy-efficient nanoscale light sources operating
at
the near-infrared (near-IR) spectral range are essential for next-generation
optical interconnect and computation systems. Here, we report the
experimental observation of ultrafast spontaneous emission enabled
by the Purcell enhancement in an asymmetric coaxial plasmonic nanocavity,
utilizing InGaAsP multiple quantum wells (MQW) as the optical gain
material. By intentionally displacing the metal core from the center
of the cavity, we break the cavi… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
