Vehicular Adhoc Network (VANET) is playing a vital role in recent research. Designing an effective routing protocol for VANET is a challenging task as the VANET nodes move very fast. The design of the routing protocol normally is particular to the specific topology. This paper proposes CLMR, a multipath routing protocol based on cross layer design and also using Redundant Array Inexpensive Disks (RAID). Cross layer is designed among application, network, Media Access Control, and physical layers. It is employed to reduce the end to end delay in network, and RAID is used to minimize the number of re-transmissions. Three variations of RAID 1 are implemented-Distributed Parity along Single path, Double Distributed Parity, and Distributed Parity among Multiple paths. Multipath routing protocol based on cross layer-Distributed Parity along Single path recovers 1 packet loss per parity packet along the corresponding path, CLMR-Double Distributed Parity recovers 2 packets per parity packet along the corresponding path, and CLMR-Distributed Parity among Multiple paths recovers the packets of the failed path. The evaluation is carried out to test the Quality of Service parameters-end to end delay, throughput, packet delivery ratio, and number of retransmissions. The results projected show that the CLMR performs better when compared with the legacy protocol Adhoc On-demand Multipath Distance Vector Routing.

Eventos urbanos emergenciais ocorrem de forma aleatória e precisam ser tratados por entidades competentes para manter o bom funcionamento das cidades. Os principais desafios para um tratamento eficiente recaem justamente na aleatoriedade no tempo ou no espaço, e na rapidez e acurácia da comunicação da ocorrência do evento à uma entidade responsável, sendo este último desafio agravado pelo fato desta comunicação depender de intervenção humana. A onipresença de veículos em ambientes urbanos, sua capacidade de comunicação e monitoramento, possibilitam o uso de VANETs como meio de auxílio para disseminação e tratamento destes eventos. Assim, este artigo propõe MINUET, um sistema de monitoramento e disseminação de eventos urbanos, que atua em uma rede veicular não estruturada. Ele é baseado em uma estratégia cooperativa, onde veículos coordenam dinamicamente o monitoramento e a disseminação de múltiplos eventos em tempo real através de agrupamentos. Resultados no NS3 mostram o desempenho do MINUET na detecção, monitoramento e disseminação em tempo real de eventos em zonas urbanas.

Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (VANETS) tend to be specific type of wireless network created by vehicles interacting between themselves as well as along with roadside device stations. A number of products and services have been produced with regards to VANETS varying from security to comfort applications. An essential need for this kind of services is because they are available with Quality of Service (QoS) ensures with the regard of service consistency as well as availability. This paper represents about the AODV-R routing protocol outperforms in terms of reliability. This paper proposes a New clustering Ant Colony Optimization based routing protocol AODV-R for removing the congestion as well as finding shortest path selection. The proposed methodology has shown quite significant improvement over available ones.
