Experimental Research of Rotational-and-Frictional Boring of Big Holes in Large Parts

Abstract: When producing large-dimensional parts of heavy machines, the largest specific weight in the general labour input is made by the operations, connected with machining the main holes, i. e. holes of large diameter. To the holes of large diameter of large-dimensional parts, there are specified high requirements in the aspect of accuracy of the size, shape and arrangement. Machining of holes still remains one of the topical problems of present day mechanical engineering, in particular machine-building enterprises … Show more

“…The studies have shown that at fi rst there are mainly formed small buildups, the number of which fl uctuates sharply, quickly increasing in size and turning into a large build-up. It is known [17] that increasing the size of build-ups and their transformation into a large build-up is associated with the conditions of friction in the contact between the tool and the blank. To prevent the formation of build-up during cutting, it is necessary to soften the machined layer of the blank to the ductile state.…”

“…Figure 6 shows the chip pattern when machining with a shaver-roller made of ShH15 steel. It is known that the cut layer is subjected to compression when machining with a cutting tool [17]. The cutting edge of the tool contributes to the appearance in front of him, in the limited area, at the initial moment of time, a complex elastic-stress state caused by pressure.…”

“…The research of technological process restoration details of the eccentric cone crusher, made of steel 35L led to the creation new technologies restoration of worn surfaces including: restoration geometric sizes of weld eccentric outer cylindrical surface of the mechanized arc powder tape; termofikacine cuttinghardening treatment [13,14,15,16,17] the deposited surface of the eccentric. It is known that the process of traditional TFT of metals by cutting discs is a combined method using the thermal and mechanical action of the tool on the cut layer of the workpiece material [18,19,20,21].…”

“…The friction disc is heated and the reduced surface of the part is pre-treated, after which the final processing is performed by the cutting tool at high speeds. Also perspective is the combined processing methods based on the mechanism of cutting thermo-friction cutting at low speeds [6][7][8][9], such as multi-blade rotational turning [10,11], rotational-friction turning [12,13], thermos-friction milling and of the interval [14,15].…”
