Experimental Studies of Heat Transfer Characteristics and Properties of the Cross-Flow Pipe Flow Melt Lead

Abstract: The process of heat transfer in a HLMC cross-flow around heat-transfer tubes is not yet thoroughly studied. Therefore, it is of great interest to carry out experimental studies for determining the heat transfer characteristics in a lead coolant cross-flow around tubes. It is also interesting to explore the velocity and temperature fields in a HLMC flow. To achieve this goal, experts of the NNSTU performed the work aimed at the experimental determination of the temperature and velocity fields in high-temperatur… Show more

“…For the heat transfer in the helical tube bundle zone, the Seban-Shimazaki correlation is used. Since an appropriate convective heat transfer correlation for helical tube bundle is not implemented in the modified version of RELAP5, the Seban-Shimazaki correlation has been corrected with a multiplicative factor, calculated as the ratio between Seban-Shimazaki and Sherbakov correlation [26] which is used for liquid metal in helical coil bundle geometry.…”

“…A R5 model has been developed to investigate the HCSG design. Due to the lack of an appropriate HTC correlation in R5, a multiplicative factor, calculated as the ratio between Sherbakov [11] and Seban&Shimazaki [12] correlation, has been introduced to better reproduce the HTC for PbLi in HC geometry.…”
