Experimental study of concavity of large EMC slab

Abstract: To simplify the complex electromagnetic casting (EMC) techniques, a simulated experimental setup has been designed. With this apparatus, the contraction of the lateral faces of pure aluminum and Al±4.5%Cu slabs, which are different in width-over-thickness ratio, pouring temperature or cooling water¯ow rate was recorded during the casting process.
