Experimental study of tilting pad journal bearing—rotor system with acoustic emission technique

Abstract: The performance characteristics including pressure distribution and vibration of four tilting pads bearing-rotor system were experimentally studied. The acoustic emission (AE) technology was used to investigate the impact between the pad and the shaft while the shaft is rotating. The pressure distributions indicated the film shape of different pads.
